The school was situated next to Steep church on the south side of Church Road. It was demolished when the Steep Victorian School was built in 1875. The National School was situated in what is now (2019) the front garden of a house named The Tithe Barn. The National School was a single story building with arched Gothic type windows. A glimpse of it may be seen in the painting of Steep church 1846 by Richard Ubsdell.
